The incumbent has the overall responsibility of the Core Processing Department, which includes the core processing system, core processing server (iSeries/AS400), item processing, courier services and end of day processing. As a part of this responsibility, the incumbent will directly supervise the Core Processing Supervisor and the Item Processing Supervisor and others indirectly within the Core Processing area. The incumbent is also responsible for management and oversight of the document imaging system. The incumbent will perform required research when setting up new products and equipment.
Maintains the Bank's in-house computer system and assists employees in troubleshooting core and imaging problems by investigating communication failures, performing systems operations, resolving problems, interacting with system users, processing and maintaining systems related work orders, establishing user parameter and access rights.
Oversees the maintenance of system hardware and software and operational functions to ensure the daily operation of the Bank's system and the capacity to provide for present and future system needs.
Supervises the core and item processing personnel by conducting or overseeing the training of Bank procedures, motivating and assisting the personnel, and doing so in accordance with government regulations, auditor recommendations and Bank policies in order to ensure accurate, consistent, effective and efficient IT, data processing and proof operation services.
Provides technical expertise on operating systems and equipment configurations; researches and makes recommendations to the IT Committee; conducts training sessions as needed; maintains an adequate level of knowledge in the technological development of hardware, software and changes in the banking environment that affects the incumbent's assignments in order to ensure timely and effective project conversions.
Maintains accurate and orderly records of current computer equipment and software requirements that accounts for the constant changes in equipment and software on a semi-annual basis to enable the replacement of equipment and software in the event of a disaster and meet the requirements of the examiner.
Responsible, as applicable, for the branch/department related content, implementation, updates and maintenance of the Business Continuity Plan as directed by the Bank Security/Operations Officer and Board of Directors.
Develops and maintains a personal program for maintaining an adequate level of knowledge in banking matters and management techniques and also demonstrates personal and interpersonal behavior, attitude, judgment, communication and initiative with customers and employees in order to ensure an acceptable degree of performance.
Performs any other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Bachelor's degree in business or management of information systems.
Five-plus years of banking experience.
Five-plus years of Jack Henry Software (preferably 20/20 or Silverlake) knowledge and experience. Other bank software experience will also be considered.
Two-plus years of supervisory experience, plus supervisory abilities, including: leadership skills, sound decision making, the ability to motivate others, and the capability to address conflict in a positive and productive manner.
Proficiency in all Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel etc.).
Technical ability to use iSeries/AS400, JHA, and other position-related software programs such as Synergy. Cognos and ProfitStar.
Technical ability and flexibility to readily learn and adapt to new softwares and technology.
Good research, organizational, and project coordination skills, as well as good data compilation and analytical skills.
Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and accomplish a variety of tasks.
Ability to set and accomplish goals with little supervision.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, & written communication skills.
Must be able to meet attendance and punctuality standards.
